Ever wondered what a post-wedding shoot is? Maybe you heard your photographer mention it while planning for your big day. Well with this blog, I am going to differentiate between an engagement session and a post-wedding shoot to help couples figure out which option is best suited for them or why they should do both. With each wedding package, I always included a 1.5-hour session of your choice. This session can either be an engagement session or a post-wedding shoot. Here are the differences:
Engagement sessions
Engagement sessions are great for those just recently engaged. Typically, your engagement session is within one to two months of getting engaged. The engagement session is done prior to the wedding so we can take
photographs for your announcements and save the dates. For this session feel free to bring 2- 3 outfits;
something fancy, something cozy, and something completely you. Feel free to bring any props and/or
your dog! Some great prop ideas are blankets, beer, champagne, coffee, hats, flowers, etc.
Engagement sessions are a great way for you to get more comfortable in front of the camera before your wedding day. This session helps you and your partner get to know your photographer better and gives you insight into how they work with their clients when shooting. When the wedding day comes around you won't feel like you are meeting a stranger for the first time, but instead seeing a friend. Creating this bond between clients and the photographer before the wedding day can really help relieve some wedding day jitters.
If you want to capture photos of you and your SO relaxed and authentically you then I would recommend booking an engagement session!

Post-wedding sessions
Post-wedding shoots are great for those craving tons of couple portraits of you and your partner during this newlywed season of your life. Typically your post-wedding shoot is a few days or weeks after your wedding date so we can soak up all that newlywed glow. This is a time for you and your boo to put your wedding attire back
on and take more bridal portraits just the two of you. This is a wonderful option if you have already taken
engagement photos or if the wedding timeline only allows for a few minutes of bridal portraits. I get it, the wedding day can be hectic, so why not book another session to take more photos in your gown you invested so much into? This is an awesome option if you want intentional time and professional photographs with your partner in your gorgeous wedding attire in a more relaxed environment.
A post-wedding shoot is also a great idea if you are wanting more beautiful photos in a different location
other than your venue. For this type of session, we can go to the mountains, a downtown area, or
